Adjust settings and scoring options
What are Story Settings?
In the Story Editor, you can navigate to Story Settings in the left-side menu to adjust the General Settings, and the Limits & Certificates.
How to use General Settings in the Story Editor
In General Settings you can enable or disable story features, limits, and certificates.
Scoring/Grading Mode
In Scoring / Grading Mode you can choose how questions need to be completed.
Evaluate Grading Mode. If set to Evaluate, then users can submit incorrect answers/activities.
Teach Grading Mode. If set to Teach, then users must repeat answers/activities until correct.
Survey Grading Mode. If set to Survey, then there is no correct answer - all answers are accepted.
Sequence
Use the Sequence story setting to determine the order in which users must complete a story.
Linear sequence. If set to Linear, then users must complete the chapters/sections sequentially.
Open sequence. If set to Open, then users can complete the chapters/sections in any order.
Allow Activity Skipping
Activity Skipping On. If enabled, users can skip activities.
Activity Skipping Off. If not enabled, users must complete activities.
Enable Reviews
Reviews On. If enabled, comments and reviews may be submitted.
Reviews Off. If not enabled, comments and reviews may not be submitted.
Allow Multiple Attempts
On (Default). If enabled, users can attempt multiple times.
Off. If not enabled, users may only make a single attempt.
If Allow Multiple Attempts is not enabled, then users won't be able to re-do an activity more than once. This setting is ideal for formal assessments. If necessary, you can reset a user's attempt via the logs in analytics.
Publish to Pathway Only (Experimental)
Publish to Pathway Only On. If enabled, then the story is only available in pathways.
Publish to Pathway Only Off. If not enabled, then the story is published to the app and available in pathways.
How to use Limits & Certificates in the Sotry Editor
Time Limit in Minutes
Specify a time limit (in minutes) allowed to complete. By default, no time limit is set.
Required Pass Mark
Set a pass mark percentage. If the Grading Mode is set to Teach or Evaluate, then you can specify a require passmark between 1% - 100%. By default, the pass mark is set to 0.
Completion Certificates
Award Certificates. If enabled, then users will be awarded a certificate for completions.
Do not Award Certificates. If not enabled, then no certificates are awarded for completions.
